Did I overpay for my 73’?

Congratulations on your purchase! Like others have said if it has little to no rust, you got a deal.
Don't do what I did and tear it apart. It's really easy to remove one thing and keep going. Before you know it the body is off the frame and you're looking for an LS motor. Drive it while you fix it.
Totally agree!!! The essence of the fifty yr old technology is the great joy. I have had mine 36 yrs and just about always ready to use. It's got plenty of grunt STILL. It's amazing how many hoses, tubing, are original.

A good rebuilt steering box and damper shock made the difference for me. It will never be rack and pinion........Everytime I drive it I get used to it right away(almost)
Nice. What is your suspension and wheel/tire combo? I plan on doing a 2-1/2” to 3” lift with some 33” tires.

Almost stock. Stock springs-no lift. 15 x10 aluminum American Racing 5 spoke, Pirelli Scorpion ATR 31x 10 B rated And the difference KONI red adjustable......The grip is very good on road , great in the snow, and off road . I don't beat on it...
