Looks all right to me...as long as it doesn't leak and is still thick enough to take a good hit you'll be fine.

"Too much" is only a matter of perspective.

Good point... I was just wondering if I smack it hard it would mess up that bottom bolt.

I went farther than that, you could go about a 1/2" more before you went too far. I went too far, it happens.

i went just almost to the bottom of the bolt. just give the bolt enough to grab onto and you shouldnt have any leaks. the main thing to do is make the lip at the back as smooth as you can. the whole purpose is to make the diff slide over the rock instead of grab it.

Cool! thank's for the info... As for the lip I'm already on it. I'll post some pics later.... /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I got it to leak last weekend but not because I cut to far into the diff. I just didn't shave the cover down enough and a rock grabbed the cover and peeled it back. Once the cover is trimmed right I don't think I will have a problem. I didn't when I had my last cover trimmed right. (took the old cover off to put a new plated cover on)
