I love Craigslist!!!!!

I think I got a pretty good trade.

My craftsman long distance cart and side cabinet.

For a Millermatic 200, Miller m-180 arc welder, 2 small steel benches, and a 15 ton arbor press.

Plus, two 13 pound spools of .035 stainless wire, one 11 pound spool of .035 steel wire and a 44 pound spool of .035 steel wire. But the 44# spool has some rust on it. Hopefully It's just the top layer or two.

Considering I was asking $700 for my box.

Went down to my local Airgas supplier this afternoon to get consumables and he said to let him know if I wanted to sell the MM200. He has guys looking for them all the time. I asked him how much I could get for it and he said $700-800 depending on condition. I think I'll keep it.:D

I'll get some pics of the welds tomorrow.

What do you guys think?

The box itself is a heavier version of the ones they make now. I paid $800 for it 6 years ago. The side cabinet was $300. I didn't think 700 was a bad price. Oh well doesn't matter now.

I fired up the welders tonight and the arc worked like a champ. The mig took a little convincing to get lined out. About an hour of cleaning and it now works like a champ also. :D It's nice to be able to burn really hot and deep without multiple passes.

I sold my 110v mig for $250 today. That money will get spent on tubing for the cage. I hope.

Nice score. I have the older version MM200. I recently broke my handle and when talking with Airgas about my machine they said that people prefer it over any of the new machines. They also said the black face MM200 (that's what i have) is a little better then the white face machine. I've had my machine for 17 years and never had one problem with it (until i broke the handle not knowing how to properly take it apart).

Whatever you do, keep that mm200. That's one of the best mig welders ever.

I've got one that's 22 years old. I got it used about 4 years ago for $560.

Two years ago I bought a new Lincoln 255C, that imo, doesn't hold a candle to the old mm200 as far as arc quality. In fact I sold the Lincoln and put the money toward a new Miller XMT350 inverter. And the millermatic 200 is just as powerful as the lincoln 255c.
