I used a 140amp alternator from 94 Pontiac transport with rear air and the plug in adapter. It is on an 85 K-10with SBC 350. I had to modify the upper bracket where it bolts to the manifold. I had to weld a tab to it and relocate and slot a new hole(thank God for my Bpt. Milling machine). The next mod was in the back of the alternator where the lower bracket bolts to the back of the alt. I had to weld a tab and drill a hole in line with the threaded hole on the alternator. This is the best mod I have done for the charging system of the truck. At idle with the system loaded (lights, blower, etc) it does not budge on the gauge(steady at 13.8v). I plow with this truck and I will report back when plowing. I will take some pics of the brackets when I get a chance.
