Did the K5 blazer always have a K5 Blazer fender badge?

I noticed a K5 Blazer with a trailering special badge on the fender. They say it is low miles. Perhaps the fender has been replaced or the K5 came with the trailering special badge.

As far as I know, starting in 1989, the K5 badges disappeared. They were then referred to as V1500 Blazer or Jimmy. But the trailering badges aren't something that I know about on a K5. I can't remember.

I'm not sure when GM dropped the K5 badges--but I do know even the 2WD Blazers had "K5" emblems on the front fenders, which made no sense to me..
I had a '75 2WD one that had the badges factory on the fenders, and so did another '76 a friend bought that was a one owner truck..

Trailering special badges were usually on the B-pillar on regular cab trucks or C-pillar on the crew cabs. I don't remember seeing a Blazer with a trailering special badge. It was probably tacked on the fender by somebody.

1969-1988.

In 1989 when they introduced the new trim and front styling GM dropped the "K5" badge.

I am pretty sure it was tacked on.

A few minutes of google-fu found a couple interesting items. Frist off, the badging was used from approx '76 to 80. It could be ordered on any Pickup, Blazer or Suburban. Z82 was the option code (still used today but labeled HD trailering equipment). I didn't find anything Official from GM, but based on the images I'm finding there was a pattern of where the badges went by vehicle.

Blazers got the badge on the upper passenger side of the tailgate. Like this:

Suburbans got them on the middle left of the gate like this:

The trucks got the b-pillar location for the badging.

At least as far as I've found the package was available to all series of trucks, 1/2 ton, 3/4 and 1 ton. Most of the Blazer pics I found did not look restored and each one had the badge only on the gate.
