Diesel conversion on 69-75?

Hello,

I have owned a 72 blazer and an 84 jimmy with the 6.2

I would love to marry the two and have a diesel blazer/jimmy with the full convertible top. Ideally a j code motor.

I figured this could be achieved one of two ways...

1. put a diesel motor in a 75 or older

2. convert a newer one to a full convertible.

Any knowledge, ideas or experience with any of this?
