anyone know where i can find a wiring diagram for a 83 K5 diesel? im probably gonna have to rewire the engine in my project

I could use this too for my '89!
I have a Haynes manual that has wiring diagrams,but no way to copy it and post it or e-mail it to anyone...if I can help though I'd be willing to try..pretty much the diesel wiring is the same as a gas engined truck except for the glow plug wiring and a few other sensors a diesel has that gas doesnt,and a fuel shutoff and fast idle advance switch,and a few other things...my book has "supplemental" pages for diesel only where the wiring is specific..

yeah its a PAIN in the butt. the previous two owners added wires cut wires left wires un hooked that theres no way to tell whats supposed to be going where so im figuring the best way to avoid confusing myself is to just rewire it with new wire and be done with it. how detailed is the haynes manual or could a chevy dealer possibly print me off what i need?
I'd go to the library,the ones near me have a lot of Motors and Chiltons manuals specifically for wiring diagrams..
Autozone might be able to print them out too,I've gotten wiring diagrams from them for an Isuzu Rodeo I had a hard time fixing a blower motor problem on,turned out it had a resistor for the blower that was a printed curcuit board hidden away under the dash that was bad--their computer system has an "Alldata" type of info service they can print out for you......a dealer might be some help but most here cant be bothered with "do it yourselfers" and wont spend 5 minutes to help you unless your a big spender who gives them a lot of bussiness..

Check out the web-site for "Steel Soldiers" which deals exclusively in military vehicles. CUCVs are common thread there. I recall a link that that had the Army's -10 and -20 manuals (-10 is user level, like the owner's manual for a civilian vehicle, and -20 is more like a shop manual, and so on) featured. While the Army's 6.2 in CUCVs and the 6.2/6.5 HUMVEES differ in a few ways, the basics are the same (excepting mil-specific bits, such as 24-volt systems) and I bet you can find something good there.

I will check my 90 shop manual and my haynes 76- 91 and let you know.
I am actually needing something similar except I don't want to go factory, I want minimal wiring, so I think I will go heavy duty Solenoid with push button for the glow plugs.

thats what im looking for. starter, glow plugs, the wires to the injection pump and the gauges. ive got manual windows and door already. i guess besides lights thats all i need to drive it on the street to the trail
