I am removing the T400 trans and installing the SM465 Stick. I picked up a hydraulic bell housing from a 350 TBI. Will the gas bell housing fit the 6.2 diesel with the 12 INch clutch. I have been told yes they are all the same and no the diesel is different. Help!

Thanks

Brett

The bellhousings are the same. The flywheels are different (external vs/ internal balancing). The clutches are different part numbers, probably more to do with the clamping force to deal with extra torque. You will not have a problem with fitting the diesel clutch into the bellhousing you have.

Thanks for the scoop I really appreciate it. One other question my bell housing has the slave cylinder on the driver side will that be a interference issue with my front drive shaft on my 84 Blazer when off roading?

Slave on driver's side, front driveline is on passenger side...you should be good to go.

I worded that backwards my bell housing slave is on the passenger side same as front driveshaft.

That means you have a new body style bellhousing. IIRC, it hangs fairly low and can be an issue depending on how much lift and up travel you have.
