I been looking around on here off and on for the past two days and can't seem to pin point something that leads in the right direction.

Its a 89 Burb 3/4t w/ 6.2L (scored it for free from my step grandpa:D). What I need to know is it similar to changing a head gasket on a 350tbi or completely different?

Any pointers or good threads.

Thanks in advance.

Mechanically very similar to doing head gaskets on a small block. The fuel system is quite different, and you'll definitely want to take some before pic's, plus label stuff as you remove it.

The injection pump can be a stumbling block. There are the three studs it is mounted with that are visible...however, there are three small bolts that need to be gotten that unless you know are there will trip you up. You need to remove the oil fill tube, and you'll see at least one. Remove carefully, bar the engine over until you see the next one, remove that one and repeat for the last.

Some minor cracking between the valves is common, and isn't a big deal.

The stock head bolts are "Torque to yield"...single use. Throw em out and pick up some ARP studs.

Do not scrimp on valve cover gaskets, they are a metric pain in the ass when the engine is completely together.

It's a good idea to do the water pump while it's apart.

I can't think of anything else.
