Need to replace the soft lines on my dmax. I was told to use Marine grade hose as its rated for diesel. I need 5/16 and 1/2" ID. @ryoken what are you using on the boats?

You'll pay a lot more for anything labeled "marine grade" but they are thicker, stronger, and usually better material.

Thats what I have been told. They have a higher temp rating as they are usually in a sealed compartment. Its gonna suck replacing all the lines and the FPR, and I only want to do it once.

The FPR are terrible on those. Have different lengths of 1/4in extensions and a swivel and lots of patiences.

sorry I missed your other one...

ok, your choices for marine tend to be Shields, Trident or Parker.....

in Shields we usually use the #368 series for dizzle stuff...

in Trident, we run the #365 series..

parker, we run the 221 series usually

I believe Aeroquip makes one too, but we generally use the other 3...

Yep, Parker hose.....their diesel hose is also used by a few fuel cell manufacturers in a submersed application and it holds up very well. I got it when I put the FAST on the Maiden....should be in my thread somewhere in June 2012.

Thanks for the links that helps a ton. The job is gonna suck so I want to make sure I only do it once. I hope the new hose will fix my cavitation problem. Between the new soft line and the fpr I hope to get some power back. If not I have a used cp3 sitting in my barn.

be aware those links where just convenient google ones.......... shop for your best price...

as Dave alluded to, I do like Parker more for personal use than the other 2 for the reason it tends to be available locally better than the other 2... we get delivery trucks from our distributors daily, so at work the first 2 are easy to get...

Thanks again. I'll try to call some local marina's see if they can get it.

Ended up getting gates uscg approved hose. I bought a total of 12 feet of hose was $96.02. :doah: The stuff is twice as thick as the oem hose so hopefully it's worth it.

So then new clamps... and do you think you'll have trouble getting it where it neads to go !?

I don't know why yours are rotted out and mine aren't!?

Did I just jinx myself ! Lol!

Mine sits way too much. I only put about a thousand miles per year on it.(2 wheeling trips) It is stored indoors so I dont really know why. I'm guessing not having the constant flow of fuel through it made them break down and soft. They are for sure bad. I can't even collapse the new hose 1/4 of the way. Should be a huge improvement.
