Hi,

following part number: Delphi 6703801 , I've got a red block 6.2 in my truck. On what do I have to look when buying injectors generally? Are remanufactured injectors as good as new ones or does it matter where I buy them/or form what company (Bosch etc.)
Thanks a lot!

Greetings from Bavaria

guten tag nach virginia mine freund.

general rule of thumb, stay away from ebay.

check out heath diesel, (http://www.heathdiesel.com/), they can definatly get you the right parts for your engine, or tell you if what youre looking at is correct. No difference between reman and new, other than price. The main thing you want to make sure you got right is the threads. Im not sure what year they changed, but the injectors went from a corse thread, to a fine thread at some point, and are not interchangeable.

There are different brands of nozzles on the market, and the Bosch are generally seen as the better product. Ebay can be great, but fully expect to get what you pay for! If it seems too cheap, it probably is!

Red block was one year only...'82. That's the only year that got the coarse thread injectors.

well, they are for the 6.5L TD so they would be for fine thread injector housings, i have no idea if the internals of the fine thread and course thread injectors are the same......... Rene????

also, FWIW, If i were going to do work to my injectors, i would do more than simply swap the nozzles. The springs also wear over time, and can get out of adjustment. If im going through the trouble of pulling all my injector lines, and battling the injectors out of the head, and installing everything back in there, imma want to do it right so i dont have to do it again for a long.... long time. So id go with a set of fully remanufactured and balanced injectors.
