This is a Gov Lock, correct? Sorry for the poor pic.

Thought I could tell the difference, and now I don't trust myself.

Count the number of large holes there are in the middle of the carrier. There should be 3 with a govlock and 4 with an open. I am refering to the big hole in the middle of your pic a little over half way up just to the right of your ring gear.

I would agree. You can see the ribs on the teeth side of the ring gear which indicates an open carrier.

i'll throw a third vote for open.
if there are little windows to see the spiders (or the detroit if you're lucky) then its open.
