Diff vent relocation

Just got some tubing and fittings in from McMaster-Carr today to relocate my diff vent tubes (stock locations right now). Just sort of curious as to what the preferred locations are for relocating the tubes on a Blazer. Thought about the driver's side firewall for the front diff, but not sure for the rear.
 
my front one is run to top of the rad support just under the hood. The rear is just under the floor of the bed. I figure the front will see deeper water then the rear since if the water starts coming in the cab I will back up. if the front diff vent goes under water its the last of my worries since by then the carb will be under water and I will be up to my waist in it.
 
My front one is ran up to the inner fender area and bolted to the rear bolt that holds the w/w bottle to the fender. That way water or mud can't splash it and if I get that deep then something is bad wrong. For now I just shielded the rear vent in the factory position. I plan on moving it behind the tail light bolted to the 1/4 panel support.
 
I saw somewhere a guy welded an air chuck connector to the axle and just connected a spiral air line to it that way he could move the vent anywhere depending on how deep the water was.

I did this aboot 3 years ago, the end of the front hose is on the upper left corner of the fan shroud. The rear hose end is behind the right rear taillight.

Hey, I guess you did'nt notice I mentioned that I did this 3 years ago so who's calling who a copycat?

Got the idea from your thread :D

Those little NPT fitting filters are pretty nifty, too. Could browse that website for days and probably wind up buying $5000 worth of stuff :eek1:

so your gonna get out and re-adjust the vents for every water crossing/mud hole?
 
Dont for get the Tcase breather as well.

I ran the breather for the np208 on my k5 up to the top of the firewall and secured it with a piece of plumbers strap.
 
Might have to do that, as when I bought the truck the t-case had water in the oil and had to be flushed. I think one of the previous owners REALLY liked deep-water crossings....I keep finding silt and sand in places it really shouldn't be :doah:
