Difference between 6 and 8 bolt front diffs HELP

Hey guys. I have an '80 3/4 ton with a Dana 44 front and 14bff rear. Both are large 8 bolts. My Dana 44 is broken, and I just found a complete, nice Dana 44 at the local boneyard from a 1/2 ton with 6 bolt rotors on it. Took it home.

Are my hubs the same?

Will my 8 bolt rotors fit on this diff, or will I have to change out the knuckles and stuff? Thanks guys!!!

Well , if its an earlier small bearing axle your going to reuse everything on YOURS from the backing plate out . But since you need YOUR backing plates anyway since they are bigger , you have to tear it down , so use your stuff anyway /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
