What is the difference between the carriers, spider gears, etc. in a 12 bolt car carrier vs. a 12 bolt truck??

The rings are the same, 8.875", but the car 12B has a 1.625"(diameter) pinion whereas the truck 12B only has a 1.438" pinion...[forrestgump]that's all I know about that[/forrestgump] /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Is there a difference between carriers and spider gears though?

Beats the hell outta me.... /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

The carriers are different between the two, I think the spider/side gears are the same though.

carriers and housings and all different, spiders most likely different also but dont know, call a shop if any exists around you, or call GM parts counter locally and ask for part numbers for both
