Difference between front and rear gears?

Is there a difference in gears between a front and rear Dana 60? Found a set of gears for a good price, but it sounds like they were going to go in a rear Dana 60 - I would hate to buy them and find out they will not work in a front axle.
Thanks.

Pretty sure the gears fit both front and rear unless it was a reverse rotation HP 60 front then they would be different.

Exactly right. And reverse rotation = hi pinion, so it's easy to tell them apart.

What about in front and rear 10B

Samey-same, the only difference is in axle shaft spline counts, which won't change the gearset but it will change the lockers and axle shafts.

So are you saying that Hi Pinion went a different way from the rest of us? :haha:
