Backstory: I fired up the truck the other day and it started smoking really bad. I thought maybe rings. So I tore it apart the last couple nights and found a broken Rocker. and really loose push rod. I went to slide the rod back in and it almost fell in the motor. So tonight I pulled the manifold and found the lifter sitting in the lifter valley.

Ok so it looks like just the rocker failed. I found the lifter under the manifold and it looks ok as well as it's slot. Apparently the rockers failing is a problem with this motor, so I'm looking at getting a nice set of aluminum ones instead of the stockers.

advice on which ones? these are the places I'm looking at since they're the only ones that have them.

I have no idea which stage I should get though. I'm guessing the Stage 3 setup?

Then I found this place out in Apple Valley(Local to me kind of). I was gonna give them a call tomorrow and see if they're in on Saturdays and go talk to them. These are the two styles they offer

My question here is what's the difference between the Adjustable Rockers and the Non-Adjustable set. besides 200 bucks?

I'm not seeing how the first ones from MTS are adjustable?

You probably lost a great deal of oil pressure when the lifter exited. Check your bearings as well...

I would think that would have its advantages.

Such as? That is how alot of old engines were before hydraulic cams came out and then the adjusting style changed but there is nothing wrong with that design.

I would think having the individual adjustability would have its advantages. Not so on those engines?

Oops, my bad, i thought you said DISadvantages. :doah:

I was just re-reading it myself Scott, sometimes I get ahead of myself, and then I try to translate what I'm thinking, and it don't always come out so good alot.
:D
