Over a year ago I picked up some extended brake lines from here and tried to put them on this weekend but they do not fit my brake caliper. Im thinking they are intended for 1/2 tons since the caliper brake line bolt will not fit in these. Am I correct?

Thanks

Nope, it's a year thing for the banjo bolt size. Pre 79-ish was a 7/16" banjo bolt on D60's and D44's. Post 79-80ish was 10mm banjo bolt for 10-bolts and D60's. If you have a 10-bolt, then I'm guessing you ended up with brake lines for a 78 or something, that would have had a D44. You can, however, swap on calipers from an older truck, no problem. You haven't specified what year and axle you're talking about, but I'm just guessing you've got a 3/4 ton 10-bolt.

ya, you got brake hoses from a later model truck

if you are very careful not to fubar up the seal surfaces, you can just redrill the banjo bolt hole out to the larger size (use a drill press, dont get chips down the hose)

or you can change hoses/calipers

Sweet, so you're the lucky one. Since your brake line is too small, you can actually drill it out. If it was the other way around, you'd be SOL. Like he said though, you can just drill it out to 7/16, and you'll be fine as long as you don't fubar it.

Is the back extended hose going to be the same though? I didn't even try that one to see if it will work.

I thought about drilling it out but did not know if it would be able to hold pressure. I guess if I don't fubar it and get new washer seals it will be fine.

Yep, new crush washers. Four of them, two per side. One against the head of the bolt, and one sandwiched between the caliper and the line.

Yeah, the one for the rear is the same. Just 3/16 standard flare fittings, not to be confused with 3/16 metric....:screwy:
