Different front clip?

Looking at buying a k5 for my dad. He has always wanted one since I sold mine years ago. Anyways found this one it says its an 89, but I thought the 89 had side by side front headlights

To me it looks like an 85 but It looks like it has a serpentine belt on it so it could be an 89 but someone stole the front clip off of

called the dude, talked to him he said the title says 89. When he bought it it was dead so he restored everything. I asked him about the front clip and said its not right for the year and he said "I must not know my chevy trucks!" hahaha Anyways don't really care about the year, if its a solid truck I'm gonna buy it.

Also he said he got all body panels from lmc truck

You're right. That's an 85-88 front clip, or grille anyway. The 89-91 had the side by side headlights.

truck could have been hit in the front end and thats a front end for an 88, or it could be an very early 89 and gm wanted to use up left over parts.

Well I will be taking a look at it tomorrow. Its for my dad so It will probably get the 89-90 front clip. I'll use everything from my parts k5. Then it will get my axles from my k20(10blt with d44 arms, and a 14sf) then it will get about a 4" lift, 35-38s and full cage. I'll start a build thread when this happens. Its going to be real mild though.

Looked at it today. Its pretty solid, every panel in the tub has been replaced. It needs some work but the motor runs real smooth doesn't burn anything. Trans doesn't slip. And its overall decent but def not an 89. Looking at a 91 tomorrow for 3grand.
