Well guys, my dad has sold one of his buildings and it looks like im going to take on a 6.0 swap for him...

Heres where its different, its going in a 55 chevy belair 2dr hardtop. Where do i start? We dont want to throw in a complete stocker, want to put some goodies into it like cam, intake, injectors etc..

Should i be looking at tri-5 forums instead?

Hell that's my favorite car. Bring it.

Advice on parts...I dunno, lots of options. I just want to see it

Car currently has 327 and a richmond 5 spd. Thinking about keeping the tranny

Can be done. They make a special fly wheel. Needs to be thicker to compensate the difference. Does it have side mounts? If so some 1" set back mounts and then its just accessories and wiring.

We need pics of this dont be rude!

Im no LS expert but I would look into a ported head core exchange with a company, put a cam in it, possibly need heavier injectors and have a 500hp beast.

And definitely keep the richmond 5

i have a good amount of experience with ls engines, i sold my mild 525hp ls1 camaro to build my blazer as i could stop dumping money into it to go faster, if your not part of ls1tech i would recommend it as you an find a ridiculous amount used parts at great prices.

my opinion would be, stock bottom end 5.3 if you have to go iron block, with a mild ported set of stock heads and some good 918 springs. a mild 112 lsa cam with around .600 lift possibly a G5X2, and an ls6 intake. if you already have the 6.0 depending on if it's an lq4 (dished lo-comp) or an lq9 (flat top hi-comp) you should change your combustion camber size accordingly. they have more torque but tend to rev slow. also why stay with the Richmond i would think you could get a t-56 with for what you could get for the richmond, and not have to worry about adapters and have a bad ass over drive. my .02

call and talk to bruce at cbm http://www.cbmmotorsports.com/ tell em kevin sent ya.

they can help with all kinds of things. they build some really nice ls stuff and have helped a bunch of people i know fix their ls problems. they have customers all over the world.

That is a nice looking Hardtop. I have been thinking about a 5.3 swap for my 2dr post also. This will be interesting to watch, build thread?

The LSX land is a wealth of choices..

If you've got the bank roll buy a LQ9, swap LS3/L92 style heads on it, decent cam, with efi and you can make at or higher than 500 all day long.

Personally, I'd switch to a T-56.

Browse around on LS1Tech.com, excellent site even has a conversion section. If you peep out the sponsor sections there are TONS of sponsors with more combos, and options than you can shake a stick at.
