I am looking at swapping in some smaller buckets in my K20, wondering if anyone has any pics, the seats I have now are great, they just take up so much dang room. I was looking at the pro-car seats but they aint alot smaller than the ones I have now.

As I recall, the seats in a friend's '95 S-10 were buckets, and pretty comfy. I'm 6'3", and this was a standard cab S-10, not the extended cab. I never really felt cramped in there. Maybe look at those as a starting point...?

:dunno:

Really, I'd think anything that came from a mini-truck, but is still comfortable would probably be a good choice, seeing as how they were made to work in an already cramped cab.

hmm...that is a thought..just wish s10 seats had a little more bolstering to them.

Well, like I said, it'd be a starting point. You may find some nice ones in a small Toyota or Nissan, or something similar...

Go sit in some late-model stuff. When you find something you like, look on eBay. I love my friend's '07 Silverado's seats. I want some in my K5. I've seen them on eBay that were removed from wrecked trucks.

yeh my buddy just got an 08 silverado, love the things but they are about the size of the ones I have now.

Space isn't as much of a concern for me. I sold the back seat and don't plan to replace it. I wanted the cargo room more than the additional seating. Two comfy front seats and nice custom console is what I'm aiming for.

Edit: These are the ones I want:

yeh I know, space in the cab is the only thing I hate about my truck, small even compared to a new regular cab, Ive gotten too used to the ext cab trucks at work.....*sigh*....

When I had my 91 blazer, I swapped in bucket seats from a mid 90s mitzu eclipse and they were awesome. Grey cloth, they reclined, had lumbar support and had alot of forward and rear travel. I am 6'2" and about 200lbs and they were great for me. They were the same width as the stock brackets but several inches longer front to rear so I welded some up out of angle iron and they worked great. I am not sure about the truck bracket configuration, but I have seen some make a frame that bolts into the factory bolt holes and has the seats mounted to the frame.

BMW have some nice buckets you could use. I picked up a 91 318is, and the seats are very adjustable. You can move the up down, lumbar support, tilt forward and backward, lean back, and have an added extendable leg support thingy. I am gonna swap them into my Sub once I get some racing buckets. But these seats offer alot of side support, and would be cheaper then buying new buckets. Look for a BMW with the "is" code after the model (eg: 318is, 325is), and 91 or under would be cheaper.

I took some pictures.

I got pictures of the back, the seat area, the seat area with the leg thingy extended, and one of the side so you can see how deep the bolters are, plus the adjustments that are labelled there. And one of the rear brackets.

I did a rough measurement and the brackets are about 16.75" wide, by 12.5" long. They look pretty easy to mount, plus they sit pretty danged low...

Ya gotta remember that these cars are all metric, so the seat measurements should be in centimeters. And that picture of the side view is the seat in it's lowest position.

I hope this opens up your options a little bit/helps you out...
