been thinking of changing up the crappy old brown vynal seats in my 1990 suburban. would like to put two power leather bucket seats up front and making a console for the middle. Looking for pictures or ideas of different seats people have used. Was wondering if using 2nd row captain chairs from newer suburbans would work also? I know they wouldnt have power, but i think i could pass if the price was cheap enough.

thanks for any help!

I used 94 Z28 front seats in place of the worn out captains chairs in my 86. The factory suburban sliders were adapted to the camaro seats and they are MUCH more comfortable than the old seats!

were they high enough? i figured that seats out of a car, specially a camaro would be too low.

I put in civic seats in my burb. took them out of a red tagged car at wall mart parking lot. welded the stock brackets and a bed frame. pics are in gallery

My set up

I will try to post some pictures of my new seats soon....I ripped the stock tan vinyl seats out of my suburban , used PART of the old mounts, and bolted up a set of APC Super Sport seats I purchased used from a friend of mine...very comfortable seats, with one problem....the outside edge thigh bolster on each seat bends down some when getting out of the truck, so you have to push it back in place once in awhile.

1998 sUBURBAN pOWER SEATS. Had to cut about 3" off the bottom and weld on a piece of strap, built a frame out of 1x2" tube and 4 tabs. very comfy. Kinda a pain though because you have to trim the seat frame

Tired of mine....

My 93 seats are power everything, but on the trail they are too soft. If you hit a rut big enough to matter, you get thrown up by the springs in the seats. I am looking for something a little lower too, since I am so tall, I have hit my head too many times when I bounce around....

2-3" lower, a little further back and something that holds me in place, thats what I'm looking for.

Well Chit!

Today, the side bolster on the drivers side (my seat) broke completely! !
So I guess it is time to start looking for some better seats, with a little LESS side bolstering than the APC Super Sport seats have, or atleast ones that are built better....I guess the one word of advice I can give is STAY AWAY FROM APC SEATS ! ! ! ! TOTAL JUNK! ! ! ! !:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Labaron (s/p?) turbo seats.
Power, comfy and sporty.
If you can find the right color in good condition leather too.
They sit on a frame and the height feels just right.

ive got the original 89 GMC seats in mine, no rips hardly any wear at all really... damn i gotta get that suburban running again... :( :( :( :(
