I need to replace my carrier/pinion bearings in my 14BFF. I am not replacing the ring and pinion unless I find damage when I tear it apart. I have all new bearings, crush sleave, seal and pinion nut. My question is will I need pinion shims if I reuse the stock ring and pinoin??? /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I'll take a shot at it and say no, you'll be fine. Just check the pattern. I rebuilt mine with the original R&P. All new bearings, races, pinion and support bearings, and crush sleeve. Reinstalled the original pinion shim, got the pattern right, and locked her down tite. It's been 3500 miles, and no problems yet.

Just my .02... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
