My parts counter guy looked at me funny when I asked him for a differential vent - what are you guys using for vents for your axles?

I'm planning to raise my vents up as high as I can (to keep water out) - but then what do I cap them with?

Your diff should have the vent nipple coming out of the top somewhere. Then I run a piece of fuel line hose up to the bottom of the body to the factory vent tube clamp, and I think the tube has the stock valve in the top. I think the valve is a 1 way valve so that air will come out but water and stuff won't go in.

Yeah, I have the nipple on the axle side - but my one-way valves are "always" valves now - the top half was gone... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You can try a few things...

A cheep plastic fuel filter or a PCV valve (acts as a roll over valve too).

It also depend's on how deep of h20 you plan on getting into. If forging a river, or stream is on the list, then the higher the valve the better, like up on the firewall somewhere. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif
