i am buying a differential rebuild kit for my full sieze jimmy. wat is the difference between a 28 spline and a 30 spline? what should i get for my solid axel jimmy?

it refers to the axle spline count. if you change it, you need new axle shafts. if you let us know what year your blazer is, we can tell you what spline shafts it should have if they are original.

My '89 had 28-spline (which I didn't realize until after I ordered the lock-rite, of course).

'88/'89 Blazers and Burbs are the bastard children of the parts bin. All the C/K pickups got the new, gee-whizzy parts while the R/V crowd made due with leftovers.
Only way to know for sure is to pull the cover and count them.
