Hi
I need to replace the fuel tank and the sending unit. Now I have a hard time figuring out which fuel tank / sending unit is the right combo.
It's a 83 GMC Jimmy Diesel.
It's the 4 outlet sending unit.
The tank (judging from measurements) is a 25gal tank. But LMC doesn't list the 4 outlet sending unit for a diesel with a 25gal tank.
Also it seems that there isn't any sending unit for a 83 (only 84 and up).

Measurements are 68cm x 65cm x 25cm, which would approximately fit the 25gal tank (height 10-3/4" which is about 27cm)

Any ideas?

This is definitely a 25 gallon tank.
You don't have to look for diesel specific.
Those years they're all the same

Thank you all! Anyone know what's the difference between those sending units? And what's the black box on my old unit?

SUCV136 will most likely be the one for the 31gal tank like kennyw pointed out. But I can't figure out the difference between the other three.

EDIT: Judging on the old piping, it's either SUCV96 or SUCV97. What do they mean with cup inlet? But both of them do only have one pipe going to the bottom, while the original one has two pipes going to the bottom and this black box.

the black box is water in fuel sensor, the tube with out the sock was/is for a water drain. This appear to be 82-83 set up. Probably not going to find a new duplicate, the aftermarket might not support such a short production run.

If you’re interested I have a good condition 31 gallon tank and all the factory stuff, sending unit, hard and soft lines, all the way up to the carb and a Holley 670 truck avenger, however this is from a 1980 carbureted k5 and probably won’t work for you Mr application, but just throwing it out there..

Not sure who this is ment for.

Op is in Switzerland, trying help out a fellow ck5 is always a goid think but I think the shipping and vat even on used parts will be prohibitive

Most people here don't look at the location and being in the United States one assumes that it's no big deal to ship said parts.
I usually first look at the location so I taylor my response to the location

Thank you all!

The construction with the water drain syphon valve wasn't there on mine. But as you mentioned that this unit won't be available anymore, should I just take the closest fit? The the potientiometer of the fuel level sensor should be the same as long as it is a 25gal tank I guess?
Do the other years of the diesel not have an water in fuel sensor?
They had a different system.
They are always trying to improve the design although sometimes they make it worse, like the square fuel filters in my opinion
