Dimentions for a winch plate, sans winch

So im going to build a new bumper for my blazer and i dont want to do it twice. A winch is in my future, just not right now. So the thing is i want to incorporate a winch mount into my bumper, but not sure of exact dimentions, sizing. Is there a standard bolt pattern? Ive looked at a few winch plates with out much luck. I more than have the technology to make one, just not sure were to start. Can someone give me a rough idea of the plate size i need to make, and how far it needs to stick out past the grill/rad etc.

Doubt i will go any bigger than a 10k winch

Go to Warn's website and click on one of the winches and it gives the dimensions of each winch and the mounting hole dimensions as well. For the most part a good many winches use the same mounting hole dimensions but I would make sure of the exact model winch you plan to run.
