Well today I decided to put a new column in the m1008. Came with tilt, wiper delay, and was in really good condition. After installing it, I realized the brights never come on. When I pull back on the turn signal, the rod that activates the dimmer switch never moves. The dimmer switch rod which goes between the dimmer switch and the turn signal/high beam stalk. Lower rod pictured here.

Has anyone had this issue? I'm not looking forward to taking this column apart but might have to if the problem is inside.

I just rebuilt my column today as a matter of fact and the only part I could not fix was the dimmer rod actuation. Unfortunately there is a part connecting the rod up under the multi function that I don't have so adjusted or not the rod doesn't move.

Thanks! I think I might need this piece. Goes on the rod next to the turn signal stalk.

Can you post a pic when you get the part please, I may need that but the one pictured looks a lot like the one connected to the lock pin gear/cam

So that black part fixed it. It was laying at the bottom and I was able to re-use it. Sorry forgot to get a pic but it does look like this. I'm going to take the one I bought back to the store and return it. It is tricky getting the cover the small column cover off and getting everything back together. Was able to do it without taking off the steering wheel. Have brights once again.

Awesome! I unfortunately didn't notice any extra parts but it looks easy enough to sneak in once that side cover is removed, I'll have to pick one up
