Dipstick leakage!!

Good morning guys and thanks in advance for all the great information and resources this forum offers. Now heres a problem of mine. I have a big block 454 in my blazer, it has a stock replacement oil pan from Summit racing. I also put a chrome dipstick I purchased at Oreilly auto parts. It seems that Everytime I rev the motor up oil splashes into the passenger side header. I tried putting several "O" rings, silicone and dipstick is still lose and leaks. Am I doing something wrong? Is there another dipstick assembly I should be using? Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks guys

every chrome replacement part i have seen leaks and dont seal worth a darn.

go find a oem gm unit in my opinion. thats what i try and stick with.

That's a good idea. I'm going to my local junkyard and dig one out of a big block if I happen to find one, if not I'll try classic industries...thanks for the reply.

i have sealed up a few leaks in my day from chrome crap.

simple fix also. i swaped the chrome junk for old stock parts. never leaked again last i know of.

yea times two on the aftermarket chrome crap. If I NEED it to be chrome I take an oem part and have it chromed. Cost more? Yea there is a reason Heinz cost more than Hunts

I had to buy one of those same dipsticks in a pinch once when my OEM cracked at the bell tab and wouldn't let me get fluid in it efficiently (worn trans mount allowed it to happen) while it was low on fluid (poked a hole in the pan on a rock). I'm still running it, but I hate how hard it is to stab if you ever take it out, and it seems to always seep the slightest which I'm sure will turn into a drip later.

A pinch or not, you'll never see me with chrome valve covers, diff cover, trans pan, or timing cover
