Bought a new dipstick sleeve for New 1982 remanufactured
motor. Oil is leaking from old one and think it is worn out.
How does the new sleeve go into the block?
Do you drive it past the little lip on sleeve or does it just
slide up to the lip? Do I need to seal with high temp sealer?

Your sleeve should stop at the lip or the raised part of the sleeve at the block. You sould'nt need any RTV the thing should fit snug. Hope this helps Eric

Even though this sounds crazy, I had to JB weld mine to the block to get it to stay. I don't know why it wouldn't though, oh well
