I have a new fuel filter and air filter what would cause the fuel bowls to fill up with dirt and crap??????

dirt getting past the filter and going in through the bowl vent. Thats how my edelbrock keeps getting mud in its bowls. I need a better filter setup.

I'm running this fuel filter
"In-Line Fuel Filter
High quality polished aluminum in-line fuel filter bears the distinctive Edelbrock script. Accepts either 5/16" or 3/8" fuel line and is alcohol compatible. 10 micron replaceable element. Recommended for use with Performer Series or Thunder Series AVS Carbs. Comes complete with hose clamps, filter element and O-ring."
I'm almost thinking about moving this one down in the frame rail then installing another one in it's spot. It's a new filter.....it don't make sense.

The filter that is being referred to is the air filter. Most likely getting some dirt and debris being sucked past the filter and into the bowl vent. It can happen, you just need to find out where the dirt is getting past the filter, most likely a warp or other issue allowing it to get by.

I guess I need to read post a little better.....my bad. I do need a new air filter base.....I have the short edelbrock style that goes with edelbrocks fuel lines. But since I don't have edelbrocks fuel lines just stock lines. It holds the filter up a little bit......I'm going to change it out....but it's kinda strange how I was able to run the motor like this for about 2-3 years without problems in tell now. But I have thought about dirt getting past the filter and into the float vents.
