Dirty tank? Or just bad fuel? Bad injectors?

About a week ago, my truck stalled on the freeway:eek1:! When I was almost to work, it would hesitate, bog out during low idle. Usually accelerating from a stop. So I replaced my fuel filter that day. No more problems.
Today, it started happening again, just not as bad. I put more gas in it, and some Marvels Mystery oil (about 4oz), no more probs so far. I'm thinking dirty tank. I also use fuel system cleaner every few tanks. What say you? I'm thinking dirty tank. Also, are injectors sold in sets? 2 right? Thanx in advance.

Before you replace the injectors you should check your fuel pressure. Your pump may be going out. Should hold steady 9-12 psi running at idle with no fluctuation at all. Best to do the FP check after the truck has been run for a while and the pump is good and warmed up.
Also check for trouble codes.

Thats another thing! My fuel pump, and sending unit was replaced about 6 thousand miles ago. Maybe Ill check for some codes.

C'mon! I know someone has had a similar problem. These things are'nt THAT reliable!

Cap, plugs, wires are about 10 thousand miles old. Ignition module hasnt been touched as far as I know. Ive had the truck for about 10K miles.

Does the truck run ok when it is cold, and the problems start after it warms up?
If so, and there are no trouble codes, I would suspect the dist module.

Yes they can be very similar because. If the ECM does not detect a siginal from the dist module it shuts down the injectors. The magnetic pick up coil in the Dist can also cause the same problems.
The ECM shuts down the injectors when it sees no spark siginal. To keep from flooding the engine with fuel and possibly hydro lock.
