I'm sure this topic has been beat to death, but as far as searching previous threads what I've come up with is that if I wanted to do a disc conversion on a 14bff , I would need 76-78 eldorado calipers. However, I also read that if you buy a loaded caliper from NAPA or carquest or something they would not come with levers/springs. How do you overcome this? Does the current connection for the e-brake on the drum brakes attach directly onto the calipers without any mods?

This is what I found at NAPA - https://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/...667_0248558177&An=599001+101978+50010+2010008
What does something like this run if anyone has previous experience?

Also is an adjustable proportioning valve needed? If you don't get it, do the rear brakes lock up significantly before the front or anything like that?

Thanks!

I would do the conversion first. My experience has been that you don't need the adjustable valve, but it varies by truck, personal preference, etc.

Also note it's REALLY hard to find Eldo calipers as of late -- at least, one side is out of stock from most vendors, can't remember which is which. You might consider paying the crazy money TSM gets:

which gets you new calipers with all the fixin's.

So 320 for the pair and the current e brake connection hooks right up ?
And you just need that the kit from ord and then some Rotors?

Don't know how the parking brake connects on those.

Likely need new lug studs too, plus short flexible hoses to the calipers... like any project, it'll nickel and dime you.

Honestly, speaking from experience, I would not do the conversion. The braking is for ****, the expense is not needed and the eBrake is for **** on such a heavy truck.

You will not get the springs and levers from Napa. Loaded means they come with liners and clips.

I even put out the extra cash for TSM new calipers and they are for **** too.
