So, i got my MC working correctely with no leaks. I had a problem early with a leaky fitting and replaced the MC.

I now have a problem with the rear brakes dragging. They work fine sometimes, but sometimes the pedal gets real stiff and the rear brakes do not release. It is like I have a line lock.

I am guessing it is either a kinked or collapsed line or possibly the porportioning valve???

brake lines are stock all the way to the rear axel. I have soft lines close to the calipers from a cavalier.

The calipers are from an '87 3/4 ton 4x4, fronts of course.

It sounds like a bad piston in the caliper.
I agree. It wouldn't surprise me , especially if you got them from one of the "cheap" parts houses.

That's where I got mine and I couldn't get one side to bleed. I took a closer look and the bleeder hole was plugged up. Point is, QC may not be the best on those calipers.

So is there something I can do to test and see if it is a bad piston in the caliper?

If I throw much more money at thesse brakes my wife will have me sleeping in the truck.

Hell, if it were me, I'd pull it off and return it for a replacement. Assuming you still have the receipt.

Aside from that, about the only thing I can think of is to tear it apart and inspect it.
