I see to remember something about 15" wheels rubbing on brake calipers. I'm looking to do a 14bff disc brake setup and keep my front 10b for awhile (with 8 lug outers).

My question: I have a guy that I can get some 15" wheels from cheap. Am I going to have issues/rubbing??? Or will they fit?? What do you guys think?

:bow::bow::bow:

Are they steel or aluminum? What is the backspacing? I run steel 15'' with 4.25'' backspacing and i had to grind the front 10b calipers a fair amount and the 14bff calipers a very small amount.

I had to grind the calipers a little on my 14bff too. That was with steel 15" wheels (dunno the backspacing).

same here... The rears and ALOT from the front. IMO skip it and try to go to larger wheels, there are some great tire selection for the larger sizes now thwt they are more popular w/ the bling crowd. If you have a fairly stock rig you can pick up a set of factory takeoffs from places like www.craigslist.com, or local classifieds. I got some H2's 5 for $800 with +/- 1000 mi. look for the aluminum jobbies, maybe off a newer duramax....

Wow, I think this question gets asked at least 4 times per week:rolleyes:

Regarding 15" 8-lug wheels in either steel or aluminum.......I want somebody to put up a link to any company currently making 15" 8-lug ALUMINUM wheels.

If you ever ,think you may, possibly, somehow, upgrade to a D60 in the front, I would suggest larger wheels. Cheap wheels are great now, but if you have to buy different tires in 6 months, they will be more than some no-so-cheap wheels now.

Or do like i did and get 2.5" backspacing 15" rims:D

What about 16.5s? I used to have trouble finding tires for my f250 in this size. I've seen some tires offered in this size, but not every tire. I just don't want to limit myself. Or is 16x10s the way to go???

PS. Sorry about the noob question. I searched but I couldn't find much, and I was in a hurry as the guy needed an answer. Call it a compliment! I knew you guys had the quick answer!

I like to keep mine under the truck though.
These pic are of a 15x10 rim with 4.25BS and a 38.5x16-15 tire.

If I were to buy new wheels now, I'd get 17s. That seems to be the future.

ditto. I just came to this realization last weekend while I was at 4 wheel parts doing some window shopping. Saw these and was "interested". I am not a fan of dark colored/black rims but I might be able to pull it off with the trim on my truck being black/chrome already. However, chrome or polished will probably set it all off better.

For tires I would definitely stick with 35/12.50/17. These seem to fit my truck perfectly right now... Once I can start wheeling though, I know I will rub the fenders. :(
