I think Boz thought you mean a REAR disc conversion.

For the uninitiated, note that some 67-72 trucks had FRONT drums as well as rear. Shudder.

Now, as to what to change ... I don't know about the 2WD trucks. On the 4WD's it's easier, as you get later Dana 44 stuff and call it good.

On the 2WD, *if* the factory offered front discs in a like truck (i.e. 2WD 1-ton), any time in the 67-72 years, you should just be able to get everything for such a truck and transplant it.

I would guess you'll need spindles, the hubs and bearings, and then obviously the rotors, calipers, and brake lines.

You would prolly also want a master cylinder designed for disc fronts, and in this instance you might want to swap proportioning valves, made easier as IIRC they're bolted to the master.

I have not seen any kits, but then I'll admit I don't know much about pre-73 trucks. I would check out

for what should be obvious reasons ;)

My bad I automatically read "rear" disc. Sorry for busting your balls.

Never swapped a early model 1-ton, but I have converted a '69 1/2 ton to front disc. I had to change ball joints, spindles, hubs. Best bet would be to find a donor truck. On the half tons you can use parts from much later model trucks to convert to disc, but there is a ball joint problem to overcome.

Possibly.

What I am saying is that with a ball joint change the 73-87 1/2ton spindles will work on a 67-72 1/2 ton. I don't know about your 1-ton. I was just trying to give you another option to check into. Good Luck
