Well iv been trying to get my 14 bolt installed but i cant to a little hold up... i cant get the caliper on smoothly because the pad i guess has too much meat on it? i have to hammer the pad and caliper onto the rotor and bracket and i know thats not good, what should i do...and idea's?

The disk bracket is bolted all the way up to the flange, and the rotor and bearings are installed right...here are some pics.

I am using ruff stuff disk brake brackets for a srw 14 bolt ff

To start off with the pads need to go onto the caliper first. The pads when installed onto the caliper DO NOT go between the bracket and rotor.

Is the bracket bolted on correctly? facing foward or rear? is the bracket "bent" in the middle for corect spacing? And put the pads in the caliper to install first...

i did install them in the caliper i just took them out to show you the picture of how close they are to fitting, almost a 1/8th. I have the brackets mounted so that they bend towards the rotor.

Try taking a 2x4 and a hammer and hit the ears of the bracket away from the rotor. There is some giving in the bracket. It won't take much so don't go wild with the hammer.

I would contact Ruff Stuff before i went any further. Kert at DIY4X had this same issue recently with one of the members here and i can't remember if he told him to "smack" the bracket at the ears or if he needed to send him some new brackets.

Yeah it was with my set, but mine were tight going the other way. Kert told be to send them back or smack them with a 2x4 and a hammer and it took care of it. No problem in manufacturing the brackets, just differences out in the field. I'm sure RS would tell you the same thing.

yea i just hammered it away from the rotor for more clearance and it worked, thanks guys.
