Disk brakes on 14FF???

It's time for new drums and shoes for the 14ff under my blazer, and id like to know more about disk brakes for the rear.
I see DIY4X has the disk brake brackets and it says that i would need an eldorado caliper for the e brakes but what kinda rotor?
Anything else id need to know would my master cylinder take this?

Oh lordie, been covered, do a search. In short, you use specific stock front rotors, and either Caddy Eldo calipers for the parking brake, or stock front ones for no parking brake.

Many people -- myself included -- have had good luck with the stock master, so don't go changing it for no reason. IF you have problems AFTER everything else is set up and bled properly (think pressure bleeder, also search for "garden sprayer" :D ) then MAYBE you should swap masters ... but if you do it pre-emptively you'll be adding another variable to the mix.

Sometimes it's hard to find the arms and springs for the Eldorado Parking Brake as most places don't include them on the caliper. I had to go to Cadillac junkyard to get them. Also shop around on the calipers. I paid $30 a piece at Kragens but have seen them elsewhere as high as $90 a piece.

Search for my posts about the levers and springs; you can use 14mm wrenches and I give a specific Dorman part # for the spring.

Hey, I did the swap this summer and had a few problems, but everything is perfect now. I agree that you should wait and see if your Master Cylinder can take the burden but if it cant here is the one you will need. New master cylinder Part Number101534 1977 K30 4x4 1 5/16” bore. As for caliper brackets I found a guy on ebay that sells them for $55 shipped! Here is his site: http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/caliper-mounting-bracket-standard-p-10.html

As far as rotors I just used '79 front rotors seeing as my axles were '79. I used the larger '79 front calipers (which is why I think I had to change my master cylinder...) So I guess I give up the possibility for an E-Brake... If you do end up needing a ner Master Cylinder just make sure you bench bleed it untill all the air is out, it took me like 15 minutes to get all the air out of mine...

The non-ebrake setups are great but anything used on the street in most places can get hassled without one. From what I've read the caddy calipers won't hold a heavy truck, is this true?

Why doesn't someone just make a kit to use newer chevy, ford or dodge stuff, with parking brakes meant for 3/4 ton or 1 ton trucks?
 
I have the caddy calipers and they are adjusted and hold my 6000 lb. truck just fine.
 
I can't accurately give you that info since i work at a machine shop that is attached to a parts store and i don't pay full retail pricing.

And then two 32fluid oz bottles of brake fluid...

I'm in the market as well.
 
So with the RuffStuff brackets what calipers are of choice? i have soem 3/4T 10 bolt ones but hear that they wont fit or that some grinding will have to be done can someone clear this up for me, brackets are still ont he way to me so i have a bit of time lol
 
What is the application?

These fit either the early Eldorado calipers or the '73-'87 3/4 ton 4x4 front calipers, no grinding of any kind required.
