is a rear disk swap in a 940 2500 pretty much the same as a disk swap in an older vehicle with a 14bff? and is there an advantage when towing? my drums arent really doing the trick. i have hydroboost if that matters. thanks.

most likely a different kit like already stated... however you will LOVE IT!!!!!

I would tromp my brakes and the back would just LOCK!!! now I actually stop... :haha:

Hello,
I am thinking of making my rear drums disk brakes. What kit would I use????? Would the truck still be legal?
Thanks
Adam

well legal.... I went with 1976-1978 cadillac eldorado calipers.. and I have an ebrake... weather it works or not is another story... but inspection verifies that it is there....

what kit to use...
cant help you there.. I used a kit from az-kickin.com and loved it....

Do you have rear ABS? If so, then you may have to bypass that system. Also, you need a different bracket. The common 14BFF disc conversion bracket will not work.

We make the bracket set for the newer 14BFF pop-off drum style axles. It uses the same rotor and caliper as the old style, but the bracket set is different. PM me if you are interested.

Listen to this guy.

Nope I don't have ABS. This is a 1986 K5 Blazer with the stock rear end.
Thanks
