dismount/mount 42s...by yourself?

I did not have to use the ether bomb to seat mine. 12.5 on an 8 inch rim I just pushed down on the outer bead first and the inner bead stayed on the wider portion of the rim i.e. not the drop well side and I used my little MV-50 compressor from Kragen and it seated the beads just fine. I removed the valve core to get a little extra volume. If you are only using a 10 or 12 inch rim the beads should seat just fine. I would also set them on a bucket or something to let the weight of the tire help seat the outer bead.

with the 42's on the 16.5x9.75 rim I just could not get a seat without ether, but I didn't remove the valve stem. That could have been my problem.

I take nt tires to a compamy here that does big rigs, they charge me just 10 bucks for a dismount and mount, ive done up to 42's and never payed more then 40 bucks, well worth my time,

also last summer my friends and I built a "beed starter" for about 60 bucks in parts, ill try to find a pic

alright, thanks bro. post it up if you find it

prety much all harbor frieght parts, there is welding reqired to put the pipe on the side of the tank, later we bent the end of the pipe where it goes near the rim with a press to flatten it out and direct the air flow better. works like a charm, just lube it up real soppy, charge the tank with the air line... and whoom!
