So i remember this being brought up once before, but i can't find it.

I need to have 4 tires dismounted (33's on 16.5's), remounted on different wheels, and then balanced.

Most "tire" shops are quoting me $100-120. Is there a cheaper place to get this done properly? I don't want to dismount/mount myself. I will be bringing the wheels/tires in off of the truck, and so no vehicle dismount/mount is needed.

I remember someone saying they had used walmart, which kinda scares me. Worth the risk? I just need a good balance on them when its all said and done.

Price sounds about right to dismount and remount 4 tires and balance. Call my buddy and ask him for a price.

You might also want to check with America's Tire for a price.

The tires/wheels are all in Davis, so i won't be doing it around here. But a good idea if they were here.

Guess i'll need to sac up and just pay for it. But then again, after 2 or 3 craigslist deals, i'll be into my whole wheel/tire setup for under $350. Guess i cant' complain too much

man i went to pepboys for this came service mount and ballance on mew wheels and i was charged 12.50 per tire those shops you have talked to are full of crap... imo

Thats what i was originally thinking. Balance is normally like 7 a tire.....

Maybe i'll call around and see if i can find a deal. Too bad i have to get it done early on a saturday......

What kind of tires are they?

When I had my new tires (33x12.5 Interco trXus MTs) switched over to the 8 lug eatons I picked up (15x8s) I didn't even have them balance. He told me if I wanted them balanced it was going to cost me alot more, because they were going to need a ton of weights on each wheel. So I went without. After I left the place, I took it for a ride on the highway. At about 70MPH, these things rode smooth!

They are 33 BFG AT's. They will see 99% road use. Plus, they are used.

For occasional on road use, i'd consider not balancing, but for something that i cruise the highway in all the time, i need the best possible ride i can get.

I've had this truck up to 90, and wouldn't be surprised to cruise on open highway at 80mph, so i needs to be smooth.

Nothing wrong with walmart tire shops......I had a buddy there that I had mount and balance my tires a long time ago, and it was cheap and good. Like 12$ bucks a tire

I think the last time I did that I only got charged 35, although I take alot of business from work down there too so they treat me pretty good.

Cool, thanks man. It wouldnt' be for a couple weekends, so i'll give you a call if i cant' find somethign in davis. :waytogo:

Definitely beats goign to walmart. Yah, i could get a skilled guy, just like you can get a good painter at Macco. Just probably not the norm.
