Distance from K5 bed to top of gas tank...

Hi everyone!
I'm mounting a lockbox into the back of my K5- I'm using self tapping screws to go through the box into the bed. Can anyone tell me what kind of clearance there is between the truck bed and the gas tank? I obviously don't want to puncture my tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

prolly about 3" to be safe.

If you mount the screws to the farmost edges, you'll come outside of the frame and be safe.

I'd recommend nylocks and bolts personally, as most things simply using tapping screws have a habit of flying out!!! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Not to be a ballbuster, but grab a flashlight and climb under there. Watch your head on the exhaust, I smack mine everytime.
