I need a new distributor for a non computer. who should I go with? MSD, mallory, Delco???? I will be doing vacuum advanced.
Also what spark plugs should I be running 44T 45T?

I would go with MSD (philly87 on here works for MSD). It's always good to have a vendor as one of "our" members.

Msd HEI is the ticket. Ive recently installed a few summit dizzy's recently and even though the worked ok the build quality on was poor. The last one i did burned up the ignition module because the idiots wired the harness backwards from manufacturer.

I went with Mallory cuz I got a deal on it. Never had any issues with it. YMMV

If the mallory is a unilite make sure you have the ballast resistor. I have had the mallory mechanical advance for 5 years and its worked flawless until monday and i had no spark. I had to buy a new module that now finally they make better and cheaper. 50.00 from summit and it runs like a top. When it came to adjusting the advance...i shoulda went to msd. The msd billet dist with vac advance are very nice.

For some reason I vote MSD... If you're looking for an HEI and can afford to spend the coin on our Billet HEI part number 8365 it is hands down the way to go.

If you are on a tight budget then the Street Fire version part number is 8362. There is a sizeable price difference because the Street Fire version is made in China as much as I hate to say it. Even though it is a China piece keep in mind it is built to our specifications and passes all of our quality control requirements.

If it were me I'd invest in the USA made parts. If you have any other questions or concerns post up or shoot me a PM.

I bought the street fighter last night. 116 shipped.
So hopefully I can get this motor running good.

good pick on the msd.ive had no problems with mine like 10 years now.stock everything and it still runs like a champ.just changed cap and rotor recently.other than normal wear and tear no problems.i run the msd 8mm high heat wires also.

I have the MSD coil, cap, and rotor on my ford. havent had a chance to drive it since the install, but it starts WAY quicker and idles better.

I like MSD stuff and will buy more in the future.

yup, been building hotrods for a LONG time... and billet MSD stuff has always been a great product...
