well, i am thankfull it didnt break till i got it home. just stalled right out...opened the hood and there was smoke coming from the distributor...this is when i discovered that the ground coming off of it was the smallest wire i ever seen and i am an electrician! 28 gauge or smaller. went under the dash and was then rolled up 25 feet and screwd to back side of firewall. this is my guess why things went wrong. so i opened it up the rotor where it makes contact to coil was a little shorter than norm i think.. but the coil was melted smelt awesome...so i went to parts store got cap rotor and coil...changed that tiny wire to 12awg and still no spark.....could it be the module thing under the rotor as well or do i need whole new distibutor? 350ci

get the dumb questions out of the way

*with key on, is there 12.4v on the coil wire?
*check to make sure you still have 12v after the connection, inside the cap.
*check continuity from the positive on the cap, to the manifold or even neg side of battery. It should be grounding itself if everything is together right.
