I have a 1981 chevy blazer with a 305. I'm having trouble passing smog dew to a dilution at idle. I live in a basic smog county and it requires a
Two speed smog test. It does fine at the 2500 RPM stage but when it get to the idle stage it dilutes and can finish the test.
I have made sure there are no exhaust leaks and all my vacuum lines are in correct places and in good condition. The part that I'm not sure about is the diverter valve. Should it hold a constant vacuum of not?
I have puts a hand held vacuum tester to it and when I test it the needle pops up two about 1 or 2 but the. It drops back down. Also when it's running I also tried pulling the vacuum line off and physically plugging it and the. Plugging it back in to the diverter valve to see if there was a performance difference. There was not
I have searched the Internet for days looking for any leads on if my diverter valve is working of not and if that the problem with my smog problem as well and I have had no luck.
I hope someone can help me
Thanks for any help you can give.
