Dixie Run...Who\'s Going?

O.k. just made up my mine today that I am going to the Dixie Run. Who else is going? Putting all the different club thigs aside, maybe we should get together up there to take some group photos and possibly camp in the same area.

Looks like I'm going. Will be camping with my club already. We usualy take the big club turn out award. They have runs of different difficulty so as long as you on 31's and have some flex and driving skills there will be a ride at your level. I know for a fact that a bone stock K5 can run the loop of 4,5,6. with a skilled driver should be very little hang ups. They have about 250 trucks turn out for this and they have curved the ratings to try to make sure they have as few stucks as possible to keep things flowing. Another words they have rated it to put you on trails the are well under your skill. They had to do it simply from the stand point that is they have 20 trucks a run and each has to be pulled over one obstical your talking hours. The next set of trucks would then catch up and you got a real traffic jam.

thanks Grim, my 84 has a 305/700r4/np208/10 bolts/3:56..i think/4" rough country susp. lift(blocks in rear)..i know, not good..../33 inch wild tracs/dual flows/4 barrel rochester ....could i make it ok?.. i'm a decent off road driver...

Your set. The online forms will be available after the 15th I hear to give the big dogs that are already memebers of Southern a chance at the HARD run that is limited to like 20.

thanks Grim...The Dixie run sounds sweet, i'll get one of my friend to go with me in my K5, nice chance to meet some of you boys, how can i register and what do i do...ect....

I am going as long as there are no hic-ups with my new diff parts. I am going to camp with GBR, but how about a CK5 day where we all run together. I would definitely be up for that. Kelbosi go to - www.sfwda.com - Jim.

Grim answered it pretty good, although You aint gonna do 5 with a stock rig and 31 inch tires, not without being drug up a few things and not without leaving some paint and possibley some VERY NICE dents.

dents are cool, but not for my everyday driver. they do add character though

If your worried about dents then thats not the place for ya!
I'm with you depdog,5 and a stock truck dont mix.
If you go there kelboski take a bunch of spare parts and a bunch of tools!!I'd also take a few u-joints just in case.
Depdog can tell you every thing you need on that trip.
I'ts a h!!l of a fun place to be if you love wheeling.
Cant wait tell I get the chance to go back again!!!The only reason I dont go now is I wont have a way to get my rig home after I leave half of it there!!LOL

Depdog and BigJ. We need to go find a bunch of D35 axle shafts before dixie run. Them jeep folks break them left and right and we could make a killing. "You broke and D35 shaft? How unusual! I just happen to have 10 for sale at the bargin price of $150 each!" LOL
As for where to get info. http://www.sfwda.org The onlin version should be up around the 15th I hear.

Way ahead of you Grim, seems somebody else is way ahead of us though, none of the yards down here have any. I saw 2 last year that were broken.
