Has anyone used one of the DIY black oxide kits on bolts.
Any pros/cons?
Caswell offers a kit that looks good. So does Eastwood...but would use them as a last result only.
Looks like you mix DI water and the color, dip a clean part, rinse and coat with oil.
Sounds easy enough.
Black oxide coating is pretty common for OEM's and cheap when you coat by the millions.
