DIY HiddenFront Winch install, no welding req. with pics

There is about a 2 inch space from the front of the plate to the back of the front bumper. So I made this 3/8in. thick plate to bolt to the back of the bumper for support. I put 2 3/8-16 bolts thru the 2 holes for the license plate for extra support.

When I put the bumper on I found out it needed notched to clear the winch. So a couple of notches and it fit perfect. Here is how the solenoid box looked mounted on the drivers inner fender.
Thanks again for all the nice replies. I have learned a lot of info on this site, so I was just giving back.

I sort of copied you, I mounted the plate to the top of the top frame rails and placed the mounting plate right up against the bumper for support. I had to cut the bottom of the bumper as well as obviously put a hole in it. I then bought cables from WalMart for lawn tractors with prefabbed lugs and placed the control module in nearly the same place as yours. It actually ended up re-inforcing the frame and even through the Rubicon, I didn't bounce it off the rocks.

Looks good. I got a lot of ideas and help from this site, glad someone else could use some info of mine.

Gynergy, awesome job man. Saved for future reference. How much space is there between the mounting plate and back of bumper? Probly something I'll see when I get to it(long time). I would want to connect them somehow.
