Welcome to my frustration. I have been working on my build for some time now and in doing so have ordered parts from many vendors, most of which are on this site. Today I received 3 orders, one from DIY, and ( thank you kurt ) the DIY order was the only complete/correct order! Over the past 3 months I have ordered from 5 vendors and the results have been,

DIY: 1st time right
ORD: 2 orders, 2 tries each time [Second try was wrong, had to get a third package. Charged me for shipping both ways even though it was their mistake. Over a week after they got my return there was still no refund on my card. When I called in they said that I forgot to return the 2 bolts with the kit so apparently they were just going to not refund me anything. Eventually refunded some of my money but charged me $7 for each of the bolts that are $5 on DIY. ORD is a HORRIBLE example of a SMB and I will go out of my way to make sure everyone I meet knows that.]
NWF: 6 tries 3 months to get it right
Teraflex: on the 3rd try now [3rd try was correct. Ended up calling me back and apologizing for the mixup. This is the type of service that will keep a customer coming back even after mistakes. I will continue to refer this company.]
HAD: 1st try, only ordered one part

In times were the economy is struggling its the little things that keep businesses succeeding. It is in these times when a lot of people out there are putting builds on hold, and paying attention to detail really matters. To the credit of NWF, every time I have called they have apologized and had genuine remorse. Both ORD and Teraflex however didn't have a hint of remorse and seemed annoyed that I was calling! This is just my rant and rave in my time of frustration. All of my opinions are just that and based on my experience. It makes me wonder though how companies like this can ever stay in business. I hope that all these experiences are due to dumb bad luck and are not an accurate sampling concluding that 60% of small businesses are incompetent.
:mad::(:confused:

Who are you talking to at Teraflex? They're local, maybe I can help grease the wheel. Couple of the guys are friends of mine.

I have ordered stuff from all those companies except from teraflex.

ORD: I had a problem once from ORD, they had clearly forgotten about something I ordered and gave some lame excuse, other than that I have recieved everything in a timely manner. But I don't order much from them as most of their prices are high. Don't waste your time e-mailing them, they will never reply. Or if they do it will be days after you figured it out yourself.

NWF: I ordered a doubler kit, some seal/gasket kits, and a input gear. I was impressed with the overall quality of their parts but their customer service sucks. Very rarely replied to my e-mails. Returned maybe 1 or 2 of my phone calls. They told me they would send an e-mail with a tracking number, that took like 4 phone calls to get. I should have asked for a $20 rebate for all the wasted phone calls to canada I had to make.

HAD: I just ordered two 1410 yokes from Jess yesterday, so obviously I havnt received them yet, but he was a pleasure to talk to on the phone and responded to a pm on pirate4x4.com very quickly.

DIY4X: Hands down the best vendor out there. I have ordered pretty much half of what he makes lol. I only had a problem once, that was with a part that wasn't fitting correctly. Kert and I talked it over and figured out what the problem was. He sent out a new one with a return slip and I sent back the incorrect one, no charge to me. I have talked to Kert and his wife numerous times on the phone, they are very nice people. Anytime I send a pm to Kert I usually have a response in no more than a day.

DIY rules all!!!!

Used to be a big ORD fan and have recently bought stuff from them but I am more and more becoming a DIY fan. He's active here and responsive. Hard to beat that anymore.

Great Quality Parts. Same Service Issues.

I cant speak for ord personally other than i live like a hour from there shop and they are swamped on the phones and chasing parts everytime im up there but i can tell you out of the shops here locally id rather drive to ord as the local shops more or less wont order or even talk to ya when you talk fullsize

I have had great success with ORD and DIY, but Kert is the bomb when you want something custom.

Thanks again Kert!

My only experience is with DIY4X.. I ordered online since what I needed was pretty generic(6" USDR Shackles and the Easy Inch). Got it within a few days of ordering, and couldn't be happier :D I really like that Kert is active here...

DIY4x, is the only outfit I've purchased from. I do extensive research before purchasing, as I'm tired of wasting money on stuff I don't need or want. Kert rules! customer service, products, knowledge of parts and applicability. he does it all, I'll have Kert make what ever I need.

yea i second great DIY experience and the bad ORD experience. iv been ordering parts rapidly over the last couple years and DIY hasnt gotten any wrong. actually i did and Kurt send me the correct ones in no time. ORD on the other hand told me they didnt make some items they had on there web site.... about a week later i called again and they relized they made them...???. yea not impressed

Just got an order from DIY yesterday. PERFECT! I even thought they might get it wrong when I asked for some sleeves with no zerks. I was wrong.

my shops,

diy4x kert the man!

wfo concepts, Trever is wonderful, smart, and very helpful and went aove and beyond. I put his service right up there with kert. I buy all my crossover set ups from him.

rockstomper, the hydro assist kits, I have ordered two of them rally liked the service. I also used the cap from jkw and I do remember their service being good. I did not order from ems off road, but he did call me back and was very helpful. would order form him in the future.

copperhead fab, I wanted to try them out, we came up with a custom design and he delivered on it with no hick ups..twice

as for Jesse, I have a drive line guy who trades services with me, and a girls dad who readily has the parts I need for free.. but when ends I will be more than happy to cal him, I appreciate his support of our hobby and his high level of customer service.

dansracingsupply.com gauges, race panels and switch panels and killer packages, Dan is a killer guy to deal with and overall just a great dude.

I have ordered fro NWF, ORD and DIY. I have had good experiences with all of them. I did recieve a wrong part from Kert but he dealt with it fast and perfesionally. I have met Kyle at NWF a few times and he is a good guy who wheels and has given me good advice.

I like them both and support them both

I have ordered many things from ORD, they are the reason I came to this site after I bought my doubler.

I have ordered stuff from DIY to save me time in fabbing them

I have no real complaints with either, have I had wrong orders before yes were they fixed yes. I think that to compare ORD to DIY is wrong. They both have their place in the market and I think they really don't compete.
On some things yes, but they are two totally seperate companies, with almost two seperate products, or directions with their products.

Its my opinion that just because you call a company and can talk or not talk to the owner doesn't make them good or bad, if they answer or don't answer E-mails doesn't matter to me.

Look at all the IDIOTS that we have had on here and multiply that by a lot and imagine all the dip****s they have to deal with. If either of them do 5000 orders in a year and screw up 10 thats 2%, if I can do math, are these 10 people not going to be happy, yes, but do they fix it, seems so.
