Welcome to my frustration. I have been working on my build for some time now and in doing so have ordered parts from many vendors, most of which are on this site. Today I received 3 orders, one from DIY, and ( thank you kurt ) the DIY order was the only complete/correct order! Over the past 3 months I have ordered from 5 vendors and the results have been,
DIY: 1st time right
ORD: 2 orders, 2 tries each time [Second try was wrong, had to get a third package. Charged me for shipping both ways even though it was their mistake. Over a week after they got my return there was still no refund on my card. When I called in they said that I forgot to return the 2 bolts with the kit so apparently they were just going to not refund me anything. Eventually refunded some of my money but charged me $7 for each of the bolts that are $5 on DIY. ORD is a HORRIBLE example of a SMB and I will go out of my way to make sure everyone I meet knows that.]
NWF: 6 tries 3 months to get it right
Teraflex: on the 3rd try now [3rd try was correct. Ended up calling me back and apologizing for the mixup. This is the type of service that will keep a customer coming back even after mistakes. I will continue to refer this company.]
HAD: 1st try, only ordered one part
In times were the economy is struggling its the little things that keep businesses succeeding. It is in these times when a lot of people out there are putting builds on hold, and paying attention to detail really matters. To the credit of NWF, every time I have called they have apologized and had genuine remorse. Both ORD and Teraflex however didn't have a hint of remorse and seemed annoyed that I was calling! This is just my rant and rave in my time of frustration. All of my opinions are just that and based on my experience. It makes me wonder though how companies like this can ever stay in business. I hope that all these experiences are due to dumb bad luck and are not an accurate sampling concluding that 60% of small businesses are incompetent.
