i traded my five 35s for these 5 37s and thought it was a great deal but im having some trouble.

i know alot of yall have done this with airsoft BBs. i am having trouble balancing my rear two tires and i have taken it to discount and a buddy at 4wp and he cant get them perfect but its OK up until about 60 then the console starts shaking and the top squeaks adn my tools rattle. i also dont want accelerated parts wear because of this. the tires have over 1/4 inch of runout though. :doah:buying new tires is not an option and its my DD. SO

what i am asking is would i be better off just debeading these myself and adding several ounces of airsoft BBs myself?
i have read about putting 16oz in a tire but my tires called for 21 oz:eek1: and 19oz when i had them machine balanced. theres stick on and bead clamped on weights currently and i was thinking if i could use this as a supplement.

also i might knock off a clamp weight while wheeling so is there a "too much" in this sort of thing?

i am kinda worried about irregular wear but if theyre balanced good enough theyll round out? just wanting to save my parts without spending the dough ($100+) to get them done and possibly shaved. what do yall think i should do? thank you... again

heres when discount did it, they didnt even try to rotate the tire on the rim. it helped a little.

Break the beads on the tires and put airsoft bb's in there.

The 16 oz of bb's are more effective than 20 oz. of weight on the wheel because the the bb's are much closer to the outside of the tire.

They didnt try and 180 the tire when they saw how much weight it needed?!?!

At my store are SUPPOSED to!

Does having your tires out a balance really make them wear weird? Did not know that, i could see if they were bad enough causing premature bearing, etc failure.

yeah they will wear poorly, these however i think can be saved. its not real severe but its still irritating. and 4wp did rotate the tire and discount didnt even attempt it.

should i remove the weights that are there? or just add the bbs with the outer weights.

Holy chit, when I balanced my MTRs they didn't use anywhere near that much, but I didn't watch to see if they did spin them. Is all the weight on the outside of the rim?

Goes to figure. Mine using only 2-5 oz on each has over the years tossed most of the weights off, and it is not noticable. Wonder if the weight is all in the mold?

When we use to drag race, the tire guy always used the old school bubble balance. First he would do the wheels, then the tires, and match them accordingly to use as little weight as possible.

mine have no weights on them at all. they shake like crazy but they are 17 years old too so go figure

EDIT: pic

I've never used airsoft bbs, but I used Equil and they balanced out perfectly. Granted, they are only 33s, but they've been perfectly balanced for about 15K miles now. I'm even thinking about trying it in my motorcycle and car tires.

you sure its not a driveshaft vibration? i got 38s and the two tires are on the back cause no amount of weight will ballance them. the truck dips down when it hits the flat spots on the tires and i have no vibration at all. but if they went on the front i couldnt even drive the truck.

both my front tires have weights going around the inside and outside halfway around the rims and about 2lbs of stick on weights and they aint perfect but dont shake the truck

I've got the airsoft BB's in my 38's...but haven't ran them yet. MrK5 uses them in his 38's and he's who turned me onto them.
I say do it and see how it goes.

I know the concept works as I use the Innovative Balancing Dynabeads in the Tracker and XL7's tires. Just hoping the larger, plastic, and less expensive Airsoft BB's work as well.

Only if you poured so many in there that they couldn't move. You'd basically have Airsoft BB run flats...

I run Airsofts in my 35 MTR's. I bought them used for a decent price & didn't want to spend a lot of cash on them. I just wanted to try a set.

I bought a box of 10,000 airsoft pellets. & split it 5 ways. I didn't count or wiegh them. I just poured tham into 5 different zip-loc bags & eye balled it. I then mounted the tires & before I seated the beads dumped the pellets in.

My MTR's are great, They had some rock rash on them, but they ride like a dream on my DD & I have had it up to 80 or so on the interstate.

Goget some airsoft pellets, & take all those wieghts off that wheel. You will not need them anymore.
